Chair Leaders at Oregon Hillel 17-18

What is it?
Interested in being more involved with Hillel but cant/dont want
to commit to a weekly board meeting? Our chair leaders- Shabbat,
Green, Sports & Rec, and Student Life Committee serve the UO
Jewish community by organizing key program areas while only
attending a 1x/month meeting.

How to Run:
Read the chair leader descriptions below.
Meet with a Hillel staff professional to discuss the position.
Complete the following application and turn it in via email
(brittany@oregonhillel.org) or in person by midnight on
Sunday, Sunday, April 9th.
Be present for elections on Thursday, April 13th.
To be eligible, all information in this packet must be turned
in by 11:59pm on Sunday, April 9th.
Shabbat Chair
Coordinates the themes and content of Hillels Shabbat
programming
Serves as key liaison between Hillel and the songleading
team
Initiate 2 alternative service options per quarter
Attends 7 out of 10 Shabbat programs a quarter

Green Chair
Serves as key liason for Hillels *new* Green Committee,
in partnership with Hazon Seal of Sustainability
o Help evaluate Oregon Hillels practices and provide
insight into identifying how to green our processes
moving forward
Build a Green Team and choose 3 Green goals to
Prioritizes and spreads awareness of sustainable non-profit
practices

Sports & Rec Chair


Coordinate Hillel intramural sports through the UO PE &
REC department
Helps recruit team members and spreads word that all skill
levels are welcome

Student Life Committee Chair


Serves on Oregon Hillels Governing board committee,
alongside Hillel Student Board President
Attends 2 Student Life Committee meetings per quarter
Articulates Jewish students diverse needs and perspectives
to Governing board
Networks with Hillel governing board and provides ways to
include them in Hillel activities
