Equipment Needed: Pool, Life vest, Foam Noodles

Activity Description:
1. Three or more participants in a pool.
2. One person is assigned It. This person must close he or shes eyes and count for a
number of seconds.
3. The other participants have the opportunity to hide and move away from the person who
is it.
4. After the it person is done counting, they start moving around the pool to try and tag
another player.
5. The players that are avoiding the it person must say Polo when the it person says
Marco
6. The first player to get caught, becomes the new it person.
7. From here the game continues from step two.

Leadership Considerations:
1. A person who has spina bifida, more than likely their overall physical movement has
affected. In everyday life a persons physical ability is something that can make things
easier. Losing ones physical ability can cause many barriers to overcome. With being
able to do an activity in the water makes moving the body much easier due to buoyancy.
This activity is one that if done with more people brings more enjoyment. Due to the
condition there should be close supervision, and use of floatation devices such as life vest
or foam noodles. By doing this in the water increases movement while learning elements
of swimming.
2. To add another element to the activity, depending how well the participants physical
movement is. The fish out of water makes it more interesting, this means if one of the
players who are hiding gets out the pool and the It person says fish out of water that
person is automatically it.
