Animal Rights

Animal rights is a major discussion and topic in today's society that in my opinion

is a discussion that should not have to be debated. I strongly believe that animals deserve

rights to an extent. Animals are like humans, and therefore I believe they should have

some of the rights humans have. I have several discussion arguments that I believe are

important to this topic. If I wasn't meant to eat meat, I wouldn't have these canine teeth.

Humans are omnivores meant to eat animals. Animals eat other animals, so why shouldn't

we? Animals are ferocious and would think nothing of attacking us. We have been eating

animals since the dawn of humankind. Humans are apex predators at the top of the food

chain. Eating animals is just part of the cycle of life. Plants are alive too. Don't vegans

believe plants should not be harmed also? Which leads me to my first argumentative

discussion.

My first discussion I would like to focus on is If I wasn't meant to eat meat, I

wouldn't have these canine teeth. Having canine teeth does not mean we have to eat meat,

but I believe that having teeth was meant in the purpose or intended to eat meat. Many

mammals have canine teeth therefore most animals eat meat. Some of the greatest
animals and predators around the world have great canine teeth but do not eat meat; these

animals are herbivores, but also most of the great animals of the kingdom are carnivores.

Another statement I would like to focus on is humans are omnivores meant to eat

animals. Omnivore is a word used for things that are capable of eating meat. This being

said it does not mean you have to eat meat, but do have the capability to do so. Animals

are like humans, yes there are animals that only eat plants but just a percentage of them.

Most of the animal and mammal population eats meat. Animals are the major part of the

food chain and humans are at the top of the food chain therefore animals can eat anything

and everything, not excluding animals.

Another major argument on this discussion and topic is Animals eat other

animals, so why wouldn't we? This is a question that is debatable in so many different

shapes and sizes, not just to state the obvious, but in a sense it is true. If an animal can eat

another animal and there is no issue with it, then why is it an issue for a human to eat an

animal? Most people would debate it is all part of the food chain, others would say still

that it does not matter if it is part of the food chain, they do not accept the actions of

humans killing animals for the pleasure of food.

A statement that a lot of people will question and debate about majorly is Animals

are ferocious and would think nothing of attacking us. There are many cases in which a

human is encountered with a wild animal and the animal just attacks him out of nowhere.
Although i do believe animals have rights it still does not really mean that a human can

not or even should not kill an animal. If an animal is killed, no matter what reason that

the animal is being killed for, the action should be done in a humane way; this way the

animal can have a peaceful and suffer less death. An argument that also goes along with

this statement is if we were not to breed these animals we would not have to suffer or

worry about the issue of animals attacking humans.

This argument is major and I believe doesn't really have much validity in my

opinion, We have been eating animals since the dawn of mankind. There really is no

question that all mankinds ancestors have eaten some type of animal. Therefore just

about every human being eats meat. I do not think that people really care or think about

where the meat they are eating comes from or how the animal was killed.

An argument and statement I believe that just about anyone will agree with is We are

apex predators who are at the top of the foodchain. There is no doubt that we humans are

at the top of the food chain and not only are we at the top but we also control what

happens and what goes on in this chain. Humans control extinction producing levels

especially with the commonly eaten animals such as cow and chicken. Humans reproduce

these animals for the sake of human lives being healthy. These animals are raised and

killed in a humane way opposed to how they were treated in the earlier times of society.

This is all part of the food chain and humans will do anything and everything it takes to

keep the cycle the way it should be.

This argument is somewhat like the argument before Eating animals is just part of

the cycle of life. Although there are many people who do not eat animals there is a vast

majority of the population that does eat animals. Animals play a major role in the food

chain, and not only do animals play a role but humans as well because humans control

that chain. Humans kill, reproduce, and even protect these animals when there is a risk or

very severe case that animals will go extinct. One thing that humans cannot really control

is the wild life animals that kill each other for food, so the rate of these animals being

born and dying is in some ways hard to determine and keep track of the stats.

This last argument is for vegetarians who think it is bad to kill an animal for food.

Plants are alive too. Don't vegetarians believe pants should be harmed also? I do

understand how there is an issue kicking a dog even when people take their dogs on

walks to the park all the time. This animal, not alone but with its owner, step on grass

also living organism daily, but yet people do not complain about killing grass or trees.

This is the issue- if you are going to complain about killing animals think about what you

are killing before you try to state an argument and a point.

Animal rights is a major discussion and topic in today's society that in my opinion

I feel is pointless because its obvious that animals do deserve rights. I believe animals

should have rights, but there is a limit to the amount of rights animals should get and

deserve. Therefore there are arguments to animal rights and people can come up with
arguments left and right all day, and while I will agree with some of the rights, there are

others I honestly would not agree with. There are some arguments that I would not agree

with such as humans should not eat animals or more specifically humans should not eat

meat. I believe humans eating animals is a big part of the food chain, and yes there are

ways around the food chain such as going vegetarian but I personally do not like

vegetables. Another major thing that animals have and humans need or in general all

living things need is protein. I will understand that you will have the argument that there

are protein shakes but if that's the case then why do animals kill other animals for food

and protein, all animals need food and protein to survive. So this being said I am also an

animal because aren't all of us really just animals?
