6.

Push the Vernier cart A and record the time of cart A at position 100 cm until it collided
with the Vernier cart B.
7. Record time of the Vernier cart B again after cart A collided with cart B until the cart pass
120 cm.
8. Use the data to calculate velocity of the Vernier cart B. (distance 20 cm and time before
collision) by using v = d/t
9. Use the data to calculate final velocity of the system. (distance 20 cm and after collision)
by using v = d/t

Results :
Formula for the experiment -

Inelastic Collision : Momentum before collision = M1 V1o + M2 V2o

Momentum after collision = (M1 + M2) Vf

Elastic Collision : Momentum before collision = M1V1o + M2V2o

Momentum after collision = M1V1f + M2V2f
