(IT WAS!

January was a busy month! I was proud to lead a

mini-book study during a Faculty Meeting.
Classroom Management & Culture was something I
came across while researching strategies or tools
for I-7 (Promoting High Expectations for students).
After reading it myself, I knew I had to share
because it discussed I-7, I-9, & I-10!! LOTS OF
THANKS to my principal, Ms. Sandate because as
soon as I shared with her she wanted to know how
soon I could share with ALL our STAFF!

This is a pic of our Staff Meeting and theres my

side kick Ms. Harrison TLAC Specialist. She was
always there to support me in all the research,
planning, and communicating of my believe that
CLASSROOM CULTURE is the best way to achieve
student success.

Each grade level was assigned chapter, and then

they each created anchor charts to share and
present what they had learned.
High Five Fridays!!

High Five Fridays started in January. It started

because of a survey I sent out the month before
asking teachers with IP they felt needed to improve
at Durkee - I-7, I-9, or I10? Those who responded
voted for 1-7 ( Promotes high academic
expectations for students).

High Five Friday REQUIREMENTS was created as a

way to promote high expectations for scholars.
Scholars love attending on Fridays and I know that
every week they work hard to get that ticket to go
have fun. They get to play games, build things with
Legos, color and do different craft activities.
