Project Proposal

My two quantitative variables are Average Tuition (Including Fees and Board) in Dollars and the

Average Aid per Full-Time Student in Dollars. For each new academic year, the four years of

college that follow will be split up into two years to compare the averages. We will be comparing

a total of 16 years, which is the equivalent of 4 academic years. What I expect to see over the

years is that college tuition becomes more expensive and as a result, in order to sustain the rise

in the tuition, student aid will become more in demand. This research came from the US

Department of Education but this does not mean that this correlation between the US average

college tuition and average college tuition are not globally relevant; just the opposite. As of

2013, Forbes writes U.S. Dominates The Worlds Top Colleges. That means people from all

over the world come to the United States for a higher education. The target-audience for this

project is for students who are college bound or parents who are financially supporting their

college-bound children. This will allow them to compare and contrast what tuition will roughly

look like in the near future and if student aid will be necessary to financially survive through

college. As a student in high school I sometimes worry if I can afford to go to my dream school

because of the spike in tuition. I know that, as well as my fellow classmates, that its extremely

important to weigh your options and to plan ahead for your future. This project will help jump-

start your awareness about the financial aspect of college.
