listening to or viewing an audio, video, or live version of the text, including contrasting what they
"see" and "hear" when reading the text to what they perceive when they listen or watch.

MS 3-3 Apply scientific principles to design a method for monitoring and minimizing a human
important on the environment.
MS 3-4 Construct an argument supported by evidence for how human and per-capita
consumption of natural resources impact Earths systems.
MS3-5 Ask questions to clarify evidence of the factors that have caused the rise in global
temperatures over the past century

*This lesson will fall on the third day of the climate change unit.

Goal/Objective:
I can compare and contrast a written speech to a video of the same speech.
Engage: (5 minutes)
Warm-up (WQs)
Display a graph that breaks down each countrys contribution to CO2 emissions. Which countries
contribute the most? Why do you think this is the case?
Inform students that these countries met to discuss climate change at the UN last year (2016)
