I am proposing to my colleagues that we have a Charity dinner. I think that by having

our whole team together at one dinner would be fantastic. This year has been an
amazing year for sales. I am very proud of our team and for that purpose, I would like to
treat each team member and one guest.
This event will take place at the Lone Star Texas Grill on Consumers Drive. Dinner
will be starting at 5:30 P.M. You are welcome to arrive early, as there will be a 5-10-
minute ceremony presenting the charity of the night, as well as a recap of the year
weve had. I will also be talking about a small project coming up next month.
The charity accepts donations in the form of money. Anything helps.
I have decided to use a charity close to my heart, Diabetes Canada. We all potentially
know or have known somebody who is diabetic. I want to use this charity because I
think this may shed some light to those who dont know much about the medical
condition. I will be speaking more about this charity and how much has been raised at
7:15 P.M.
Im anticipating around 50 people. Entertainment for the night includes a band that will
play through dinner, and finishing at 7:00 P.M. A raffle will be drawn at 7:45 P.M. Finally,
to finish off the night, starting at 8:00 P.M. Comedian Josh Murray will be here to laugh
our way to the end of the night.
To reserve your seat as well as your guests, please contact Jessica Paquette via

Canadian Diabetes Association started in 1953 thanks to Fredrik Banting and Dr.
Charles Best. The association is a community-based network, which means they have
people who volunteer, who are members, doctors, researches and much more.
Not long ago, on February 13, 2017, the Canadian Diabetes Association changed their
name to Diabetes Canada.
Diabetes Canada is used for helping others affected by diabetes to live a healthy life.
They help prevent the onset and consequences of diabetes and are trying to discover a
cure.
Diabetes occurs when the body either cannot produce insulin or cannot properly use the
insulin it produces. Insulin is a hormone that controls the amount of sugar in the blood.
Our bodies need insulin to use sugar as an energy source.
Type 1 diabetes generally develops in childhood or adolescence, but can also be
developed as in your adult years.
Type 2 diabetes develops in adults, this can also develop through bad eating habits,
and 90% of people have type 2 diabetes.
Gestational diabetes can occur in pregnant women. It affects approximately 2-4% of
pregnancies.
