Class Notes
Writing:
This week we will wrap up opinion writing and students will have the chance to write
another free topic book using the capitalization, punctuation and spacing skills we have
been practicing.

Spelling:
Our spelling pattern this week will be ai as in mail, snail, pain, etc. When two vowels
go walking, the first does the talking and says its name!

Homework:
This weeks homework revisits our spelling pattern from two weeks ago, the Magic E
or Silent E as in lake, pale, lame, cake. These words follow the consonant-vowel-
consonant-e pattern (c-v-c-e). In these words the e is silent but when it talks to the
other vowel it says, Say your name!
**Reminder: there are extra copies in the folder hanging outside Odiles classroom in
case your childs homework is lost or forgotten.
