Ifthe translation of notes from other languages tends to dominate the drawing and impair legibility, the original notes shall be obliterated. 33. ‘SCALES, DIMENSIONS AND UNITS 334 Dimensions and units shall be in accordance with the "Systeme International d'Unites" known as the Sl. Where equiprpent has been designed and manufactured in imperial units,,all detail and assembly drawings shall show the dimensions, tolerances, limits and fits in the units of the SI system. 3.3.2 Detailed drawings shall be fully dimensioned, suitable for manufacturing and identification purposes. Drawings shall be drawn fo a 1:1 scale. Scales used shall be stated on the drawing. Scales used for drawings shall be as recommended in SANS10111: Code of Practice for Engineering Drawings, (metric units) 3.33, Rounding-off of the equivalent metric dimensions may be done, provided that the exchangeabilty of such parts is not affected. 3.34. ‘The equivalent metric dimensions shall be based on 1 inch = 25,4 mm. 3.35. Conversion of tolerance dimensions from inches to millimetres shall be in accordance with ISO 370. 3.36. Co-ordinates and levels shall be stated in meters (3° decimal). 3.37. The grid system and datum level will be provided by the BUYER. 34 ARRANGEMENT, ASSEMBLY AND SUB-ASSEMBLY DRAWINGS 344. Each arrangement, assembly or sub-assembly drawing shall identify the parts shown by numbers and shell include a parts list above the title block or on a separate sheet if so required and addressed under relevant discipline number, quanfily required, name or description of tem, detail drawing number, part number and _name from the Manufacturer's parts catalogue. 3.42. The location dimensions shown on the BUYER'S enquiry drawings shall be repeated on the CONTRACTOR'S drawing. Detail drawings shall be cross-referenced to the relevant assembly or sub-assembly drawings. If the details on the detail drawings are used on more than one arrangement/assembly drawing of similar machines, then the detail drawings must bear the cross reference for all the applicable arrangemenvassembly drawings of which it forms part. In the case of mechanical drawings cross reference on assembly and/or sub-assembly drawings shall be made to the relevant detail drawing numbers in the parts list as well as to the general arrangement drawing, All reference drawing numbers shall be grouped together and printed as close to the title block as possible. DRAWING NUMBERS AND TITLES The CONTRACTOR shall number all his drawings and assembly sheets with his own number, and the BUYER'S number. ‘The BUYER'S drawing numbers and titles will be given by the BUYER to the CONTRACTOR. Reference: 3.16.3 37 374 3.72. 373. 3.74, 325. PROPRIETARY ITEM DRAWINGS For the purposes of this clause a proprietary item is defined as one which is not available ‘off the shelf within 24 hours. For those proprietary items listed specifically in the tender, as items for which detailed manufacturing drawings would not be provided, the following shall be supplied: Fully itemised and dimensioned sectionel arrangement drawings, including the full true manufacturer's specification (such as menufacturer's/supplier’s name, not the Sub-CONTRACTOR'S), model number, makes part number, serial number, ratio, capacity, etc. shall be provided together with catalogues. Manufacturers illustrations outline drawings, connection diagrams and internal circuit schematics; the latter shall identify discrete components as to electrical parameters, manufacturer catalogue/style and operating adjustment range/output. Approval of these preliminaty drawings according to the BUYER'S drewing standards from Design end Draughting Services are essential. ‘Subsequently all remaining drawings forming part of the WORKS AND/OR EQUIPMENT shall be submitted as soon as the drawings have been completed. Each drawing submitted for approval shall be clearly marked for approval only’. REVISION TO DRAWINGS All revisions to drawings shall be clearly described in the revision block indicating the individual changes made and highlighted by means ofa triangle indicating revision number on the drawing and grid reference in the revision block. Asa standard method for the numbering of revisions, letters shall be used in alphabetical sequence up to the issuing of drawings for construction and then numbers, in numerical sequence. When the drawings are submitted to the BUYER as final as-built drawings the revision should be REV 0. The BUYER will continue with rev.1 in their system thus all previous reference to revisions should be removed from the drawing but not the descriptions in the revision blocks. General revisions will not be accepted. AS-BUILT DRAWINGS AFTER ACCEPTANCE OF PLANT ‘As contractually agreed, the CONTRACTOR shall at his own expense, provide the BUYER with as-built Grawings (software) and a full set of prints (See 3.16.1) of all final arrangement and working drawings, data sheets, diagrams, ete. of RKS ANDIOR EQUIPMENT as actually executed. SS = The CONTRACTOR shall confirm thet he has included all corrections and/or modifications made during the course of the WORKS AND/OR EQUIPMENT and that a complete and final list of as-built drawings with tiles and latest revisions has been supplied. This shall also include the date the last revision was made. ga 0 29 = “ArcelorMittal” PMDDS$DOCS0001 Version 08 32 FAILURE BY CONTRACTOR TO SUPPLY ALL DRAWINGS In the event of failure on the part of the CONTRACTOR to supply all drawings required by the WORKS ANDIOR EQUIPMENT, the BUYER reserves the right to withhold certain payments to the CONTRACTOR as specified in the General Conditions for Capital Purchases. 3.13 ‘THE BUYER’S RIGHT TO USE DRAWINGS | 3.13.1. The BUYER shall have the right to use andior issue all the drawings supplied by the CONTRACTOR in terms of the WORKS AND/OR EQUIPMENT to third parties for the purpose of maintenance, repairs, replacements, modernisation, refurbishments, upgrading and renewals, obtaining competitive tenders for and ‘ordering of spare parts and to manufacture or to have spares manufactured for the WORKS AND/OR EQUIPMENT. | 3.13.2. In respect of bought in items, the CONTRACTOR shall supply full tem descriptions, part reference numbers, names of suppliers or manufacturers, spare part prices and general arrangement drawings. 3.13.3. The BUYER shall furthermore be entitled to issue general arrangement drawings to thirdsparties in instances when an interfacing is required between existing and new plant, 3.14 PROTECTION OF CONTRACTOR'S DRAWINGS The BUYER will not knowingly allow drawings supplied by the CONTRACTOR (or through him by approved Sub- CONTRACTOR) or copies thereof to be used for purposes other than those stated in this document. 3.15 PROTECTION OF THE BUYER'S DRAWINGS The CONTRACTOR will refrain from issuing any of the BUYER'S drawings of copies thereof (supplied to the CONTRACTOR to enable him to deliver a service to the BUYER or to complete a project) to a third party without the necessary authorisation from the BUYER. 3.16 CONTRACTOR DRAWINGS BEING SUPPLIED TO THE BUYER 3.164 ‘SUPPLY OF DRAWINGS AND DATA, 3.16:1.1. The preferred format is dgn drawing files done on MicroStation or .dwg drawing files done on AutoCAD. Drawings done in any other format should be exported into .dgn or .dwg and submitted for approval to check for translation errors. ‘The CONTRACTOR shall supply: ae a. A CDIDVD containing all the drawings and a drawing Index in Microsoft Excel format. CD'S/DVD'S to be marked and numbered. b. Cells in MicroStation for all the relevant disciplines. Colour table for use on MicroStation The BUYER’s Drawing standards., repapgse DRAWING NUMBERS AND DESCRIPTIONS 3.16.34 ‘The drawing office will supply @ memo stating all new drawing numbers including the first three lines of title for mechanicat drawings and only the first two lines of title for electrical drawings. The CONTRACTOR is not allowed to make use of sheet numbers for mechanical drawings unless permission is obtained from the BUYER in writing. 3163.2 The description in the title block will consist of a maximum of six lines for mechanical and other drawings and seven lines for electrical drawings. 3.163 ‘SUPPLY OF DATA 3164.1. Files must contain their correct extension to simplify the identification of the drawing eg V0404.0025- (0055.001.dgn (mechanical) & VO1E-001-00.0001 1.dgn (electrical), 3,164.2. The data must under ne circumstances be compressed, 3164.3. The BUYER reserves the right to contact the CONTRACTOR up to three months after the delivery of the Grawing data to the BUYER, if any problems in retrieving the data are experienced 3.16.44.
