To Whom It May Concern:

Shane Solomon has been my student in my Multimedia and Broadcast Journalism classes for the past
two years. In that time, Shane has distinguished himself as a quick study and budding expert in several
digital applications that the class has introduced to students, including Adobe Photoshop, Premier Pro
video editing, Illustrator and After Effects. This technological experience has been layered in an academy
setting, where Shanes work is driven by concepts learned and understood in his humanities classes, and
Shanes production is both individual and collaborative.

The academy experience has asked Shane to develop much of his digital projects in a team setting, and
Shane is especially adept at communicating with his peers to establish workable goals and work toward a
project goal. It is telling that his classmates seek to work with him because of his ability to synthesize
group effort, along with his technological know-how. Shane is curious, and his classroom questions are
not guided by a desire to impress his peers or his instructors, but a true desire to know more about
issues, technology and humanities.

This past year, Shane has become an invaluable part of the Broadcast Journalism team at Windsor High.
As mentioned, he has grown in the craft of videography to know what kind of shots he requires to make a
film ring with the right tone; in addition, Shane grasps the filmmaking ethic of always being available to
capture the right shot, to be at a school activity with a camera ready. In this, Shane embodies the rare
quality of sacrifice and generosity, and the school community is grateful for the ways that he has given of
his own time to capture footage for our filmmaking purpose when others would not.

As an instructor, it is a pleasure to have Shane in class for his obvious high sense of integrity, his
optimistic attitude, and a rare willingness to problem solve technological challenges when so many
other students would rather ask for immediate help rather than resource their own questions. Shanes
projects are always thoughtful and original; he is intrigued by his own work, yet takes a deep interest in
others work.

We look forward to seeing Shanes path. He will bring commitment and curiosity and enthusiasm to his
future efforts, in the classroom, in his relationships and in his work.

Sincerely,
