READING-STRATEGIES
At Maria Cristina Arango school there is low level of reading comprehension. In seventh
and ninth grades according to pruebas saber, in which unsatisfactory results were
obtained. Of three groups of seventh, they are reduced to two eighths, there is high
reprobation. The question is: What should students do to improve their reading ability?
The school was diagnosed using a survey and at the same readings of tables were
oriented, the instructive texts that oblige to read to develop a task. One book per
period is read, and then is recreated with drawings or theatrical works. Making the
cross-cutting with the area of technology and the complex comparative graphics of the
results of the drills of PRUEBAS SABER tests in which the changes in the reader level
can be evidenced.
The compilations of texts are published in the newspaper El Cincel. It has found a
place in the field WAVES 2016 realized in la plata (town), where the experience was
among the five best.
78% of adolescents like to read, 63% are drawn by the narrative genre; Some of the
strategies to motivate reading are: Rebuild reading texts with drawings 60%,
Crosswords 36%, Billboards 29%, Cartoons 27%, Drama 25%, Books should not be
extensive 40%. The reading strategy took into account these results.
From reading a book over a period of time, with the device of six PRUEBAS SABER
test drills, 3% reached 7.57% comprehension
In the process of research have raised other questions such as: what are the reasons
that motivate students in the choice of books ?, to what extent students' reading
ability and writing is improved through texts they like ?
