DepEd: PH preparedness to K+12.

The Department of Education (DepEd) establishes the new K+12

curriculum under the Aquino Administration with the aim to improve the
education system of the country that is being left behind and to have a 12-
year school program that is required standard internationally.
The first batch of students already finish their Grade 11 with their
chosen tracks and another set of upcoming Senior high school students
will be added in the next school year.

DepEd started their preparation for the Senior High as soon as the
Enhanced Basic Education Act was signed in 2013.

With the next school year come upon , the DepEd increased their
budget that will be use in building new classroom enough to accommodate
the students and to provide the needed materials such as textbooks for
the different tracks offered by the senior high
Also they will give vouchers to the Junior High school completer for
financial support and help the students attend or choose the best school
and right track they want to take and teachers undergo different training
programs sponsored by the DepEd.
By the following years, schools public and private across the country
adjusted to the new curriculum with the help and guidance of the officials
of the DepEd.
There are 5,998 DepEd -run public schools and 5,031 non- DepEd
schools will offer senior high school to 1.5 million students. At least 191 of
public senior high schools are considered stand-alone.
With this figures the DepEd s challenge is to ensure that a big number
of students must be enrolled in the Senior High.
According to Senator Antonio Trillanes IV there will a chance that there
dropout increase due the additional expenses of two year Senior High
program.
Nevertheless with the DepEds early preparations, the country will
soon adapt the K+12 curriculum.
And surely this will be a big step in providing quality education to the
Filipino youth.
