It is with great pleasure to recommend Jaime Hermosillo as a professional for the
field of higher education and student affairs. I had the opportunity to meet Jaime at the 2016 Loyola University Preview Days last March. There, Jaime served as panelists to help prospective, as well as, admitted students gain a better understanding of the Higher Education at Loyola University. From that day forward, Jaime has not only been a resource to myself, but to a plethora of students. While working as a graduate assistant at Northwestern University, along side Jaime, I had the opportunity to watch him grow and develop as a student affairs practitioner. Jaimes commitment to social justice, allows him to bring a unique lens to any professional environment. Being able to watch my peer and colleague grow in such a short amount of time has shown me his commitment to multiculturalism, college access, and the holistic development of students he will work with upon graduation. The goal of Loyola University Chicagos Higher Education program is to prepare professional educators for a variety of administrative roles and functions in post- secondary education. Jaimes academic course work, graduate assistantship, internships, research involvement, etc., has made him into a competent and well-versed professional ready to work with any population of students/staff/faculty. In summary, I believe Jaime will serve as an influential and life changing student affairs practitioner. He has gained transferrable skills through his experience working in multiple functional areas, practices an ethic of care, and is dedicated to ensuring students are successful beyond college admission.
