Ethnic Autobiography Reflection

The Ethnic Autobiography paper assignment was probably one of my favorites to write. I

really enjoyed speaking on my view points and myself. It allowed me to do a lot of reflection

upon myself, my cultural background, others cultural backgrounds, my biases, and how my

upbringing had shaped my life up until that point. In writing this paper, it was much clearer to

me on why it is so important for social workers to ensure they research and understand their

clients background. Whether its their religious preferences, culture, and overall background,

this paper and class taught me the importance on knowing the client because that will promote a

positive relationship and an effective solution or guidance. It allowed me to broaden my

perspective and become more open and reflect on myself as a future social worker.
