2. Write each passage down on the left side of the handout. Be sure to properly cite
the passages.
3. Students will then write a response to each of the five passages on the right side
of the page.
4. Things to think about while writing your responses:
- How did this passage make you feel?
- Why do you think it made you feel this way?
- Do you agree with the actions of the character?
- What message do you think the author is trying to convey in this passage?
- How does this passage affect the overall story?
