t-test Assignment Research Topic: Low Cost fabrication of a PDMS microfluidic mixer using an improved Print-and-Peel (PAP) method Research question: Will the micromixers fabricated using a low-cost process have the same mixing efficiency as micromixers produced using known processes? Experimental Hypothesis: The fabricated micromixers using the improved PAP method have the same mixing efficiency as micromixers fabricated using known methods Experiment description: The research discusses the efficiency of low-cost PDMS microfluidic mixers using an improved (PAP) method. The experimental procedure involves the fabrication of the microfluidic mixer and its performance testing. Three different configurations for the micromixer will be fabricated and each will be tested for its mixing efficiency. The flow in each micromixer will be video-recorded and screenshots will be taken at five different points along the length of micromixer at different time intervals. This will be done times for each configuration of the mixer. The images taken will be analyzed to correlate the intensity of the color of the solution flowing through the micromixer to the mixing efficiency using MatLAB. Respective mean and standard deviations of the respective sets of values will be obtained and compared to literature data. t-test: independent (mixing efficiency of fabricated micromixer is independent of the mixing efficiency of micromixers fabricated using known methods) upper tailed (new process increases mixing efficiency)
