Describe the instructional activities that will occur prior to the SRS activity and how you will
introduce the SRS activity: The students will read pages 218-224 in their Social Studies textbook and
complete an interactive workbook assignment with the vocabulary words from the reading. The students
will watch a BrainPop video on the branches of government and review with a teacher before completing
this assessment.

Students will log-in so their individual scores will be available to you after the session

Briefly describe what will happen during the SRS activity (For example: What will students do? What
will the teacher do? What materials are needed? How long will the SRS activity take? The overview should
be a minimum of 2 paragraphs.):
Students will take a Chromebook back to their desk or go to one of the desktop computers. The
students will then login to their Socrative account and look for The Branches of Government quiz the
teacher has shared with them. The students will be allowed to use their notes on this quiz.

While the students are taking the quiz, the teacher will be walking around monitoring the students
making sure they are staying on task and using the resources they are allowed to use. When students have
finished taking the quiz, the teacher will allow them to AR read until everyone is finished taking the quiz.
Once everyone has finished, the teacher will go over the correct answers with the students. After they are

finished going over the answers, the teacher will release the students to grab their snacks and get ready to
go to recess.

Why or why not? The teacher will go through the correct answers once all the students have finished
taking the quiz. She will not, however, show the percentages for right or wrong answers. The students will

The data collected from this assessment will be used as a Social Studies grade for each students
report card.

Describe what will occur after the SRS activity: After the students have completed the quiz, the teacher
will go over the correct answers with the students. Once they are finished going over the correct answers,
the teacher will release the students to go to recess.
Describe your personal learning goal for this activity. (For example: What are you trying that you have
not tried before? What do you hope to learn from this activity? How do you hope it will help students learn?
You must design something that will help you learn something new. Honor system!): By allowing the
students to use their notes, I am hoping to see an improvement in their grades. We have been working with
using our resources, and this is a test to see if students are able to find the information they need within the
text.
