Dear Ms. Brewer,

I am writing to apply for the position as a nursing aide. I currently am attending Merced High school for
my junior year. I am enrolled in the ROP Medical Technologies program at Golden Valley High School.
Throughout my senior year I will be attending this program to further my understanding in the medical field. This
job will give me more insight in the medical field and will bring me that much closer to pursuing my all time goal in
life of becoming a Nurse Practitioner.

I have always had an interest of helping, including animals. My interest in the medical field was first
sparked after my great grandmother had a stroke. She stayed in a convalescent home close by my school. I
started to visit her every day after school to make her more comfortable. I would do my homework and
sometimes read to her. I took her outside sometimes and had conversations about our social lives. I saw that she
struggled to cooperate with the nurses that took care of her, so I helped calm her down by giving her
encouragement and telling her they were only there to help her. She eventually realized that if she cooperated then
she would be able to get out of the convalescent home faster. I have many stories that have made me want to
pursue a career in the medical field, and this is one of many.
