Mike Webster was born March 18, 1952, in Tomahawk, Wisconsin. He would attend the
University of Wisconsin and becomes a future Hall of Fame center that will go down as one of
the greatest football players to ever play. Webster was a phenomenal player who led the Pittsburg
Steelers to four Super Bowls. He helped the Steelers accomplish this in his first six years of
Webster was a nine-time pro bowler during his amazing career between 1974-1990. He
was considered to be one of the toughest and hardest working player on the team and in the NFL.
Webster would rarely miss a game throughout his career. He received numerous amounts of hits
After football, Webster seemed to behave unusually and in 1999 he was diagnosed with
serious brain damage. This was caused by the repeated blows to his frontal lobe during his
playing days. With this, the injuries lead to him developing cognitive dysfunction, making him
act differently.
Having this brain damage, Webster found himself being confused, leading him to be
homeless at certain points in his life. His diagnosis was very similar to some boxers, having the
punch drunk syndrome, basically also having repeated blows to the head. Soon, his son,
Garrett, would help his father and made it his mission to take care of his father in his time of
need.
Sadly, Webster died at Allegheny General Hospital on September 24, 2002. The hospital
