This case study depicts how a major webscale and search company
successfully overcame very specific challenges in rolling out 100G,
thanks to a unique solution.
The webscale company had plans to deploy 100G on a large scale
between its data centers but was held back by the cost of transceivers.
The widespread availability of QSFP+ and QSFP28 transceivers
eventually lowered deployment costs and allowed the client to continue
to support CFPs while adopting the newer transceiver technology to
increase high-speed deployments.
The client was now faced with the challenge to upgrade their test
equipment with the ability to test any rate (10G, 40G or 100G) using any
pluggable transceiver. In addition to this challenge, technical requirements
had to be considered for test equipment. Finally the client was looking
