What I notice
-Teacher speaks on the students level.
-Teacher constantly asks questions to
check for understanding.
-Teacher doesnt just teach, she
speaks with the students not at the
students.
-Students are eager to ask questions to
learn more about the topic.
-Teacher activates the students prior
knowledge at the beginning of the
lesson.
-Students make connections throughout
the lesson. (Related to themselves and
related to previous lessons from class).
-The teacher used Brainpop videos (Ted
and Moby) to engage the students.

Thoughts, Questions, Connections to
Methods Classes
-The teacher made the lesson easy for
the students to understand by speaking
on their level and not acting above
them.
-The teacher begins the lesson by
activating the students prior
knowledge which is something I learned
in my methods class.
-I really liked how the teacher used
engaging videos (Brainpop) to help her
teaching but not do the teaching for
her.
-I could tell her science lessons were
effective when the students would
make connections to previous lessons
they had learned.
