Chapter 4 Viewing the whole curriculum

Outline
- The nature of knowledge
- A Biblical view of the child
- A question of methods
- The teachers role
- Assessment

Note:

The biblical concept of knowledge (85)

- A biblical view of knowledge involves not only intellectual capacities and personal

observation, but is multi-dimensional.

- Knowing in the biblical sense requires a heart commitment and involves the will,

consciousness, emotions and intellect.

A biblical view of the child (88)
- The result is that judgements and decisions tend to damage or destroy relationships with

God, fellow human beings and creation.

- The human purpose is to be obedient to Gods will, to the norms, values and order He

has established, to reflect Gods glory, holiness and righteousness.

- The child with special needs (90)
- For Christians and Christian schools this attitude is based in the belief that everyone is

made in the image of God and that Christ died for everyone, regardless of ability, or

looks.
- to have gifts and abilities that are nonacademic does not in itself constitute a lack or

disability in the person. It may reveal an impoverishment in the curriculum.

Reflection:
After reading chapter 4 teach knowledge of biblical concept. Before when I make lesson

plan I was confuse to connect with biblical perspective. but now I get the ideas how to connect

with that and how to teach students about it. In the future, I will teach my students about God by

relating with the topic. So, that they will know God is the crater of everything. If I teach student

about God from their childhood, then they will never forget about Gods works and his mercy. As

a Christian teacher, I will also care those students who are special children. Because God love

everyone so I need to care and love to my students equally.
