-The teacher organizes students into
guided reading groups with biographies.
-The teacher asks questions to get an
idea of how well the students are
grasping the book.
-The teacher has the students compare
the time period in their book to now.
-The teacher asks students if they can
relate to the book in any way.

Methods Classes
-Why was there not more time devoted
to social studies?
-When the students compared the time
periods of their books to the time
period now, reminded me of what we
talk about in my methods classes.
-Does the teacher always just
incorporate social studies into reading
or have a separate time to focus on
social studies?
