Please explain. This clinical rotation gave me great insight into the job role and responsibilities of a medical surgical nurse. The nurses that | shadowed were new graduates and it was helpful to see how they organized their assessments and implemented care. | also was able to practice essential skills in the clinical setting such as Foley care and dressing changes. Towards the end of the clinical rotation I felt much more confident and organized. | was able to prioritize and cluster my care so that | could accomplish more for my patients, Which objective did you accomplish during this rotation? How did you do it? This clinical rotation | was able to recognize crucial assessments and communicate them effectively to the clinical staff and my instructor. | accomplished this through understanding the disease process and physiology of my patients. | utilized the patient's medical background, subjective complaints, and my own observations to make accurate assessments and determine any abnormalities. | communicated using the SBAR model when updating my professor and nurse with my plan of care and while giving report on my patients. What are your goals for future work in the clinical setting? In the future | would still like to work on my time management and efficiency in the clinical setting. | will accomplish this by understanding what materials are needed for procedures before | go into the room. | will also continue to cluster my care based off of my patient's needs. | will continue to practice and improve my prioritization skills in the clinical setting as well.
