Self Evaluation
Cochlear implants have been a topic of interest to me since my godmothers son received
a cochlear implant. He received his first cochlear implant before he was four years old, and it has
always intrigued me about how he would develop as a person, despite receiving a cochlear
implant at a young age. It was interesting to see how his speech and personality would develop
properly look for evidence and analyze it. The template of the format that was given to me to
The physical project was a difficult process because I did not think it would take as much
energy and effort as it took. It was took longer than I thought it would take to learn and
memorize the signs. I would often forget the hand patterns for the signs a day after I initially
learned them. I also encountered unforeseen circumstances, such as the person I was going to
originally teach American sign language to getting another cochlear implant. Since the person
was going to be in recovery, I did not have the time to teach him. Instead, I taught my brother the
words and phrases I was going to teach my original participant. Overall, the senior project was
