Ms. Bullens Expectations for Academic Success

Welcome parents of students enrolled in sophomore biology! This is going to be an

exciting, busy semester learning about all of the fundamentals of life. Biology is

typically a challenging subject area for students but I intend to make it extremely

enjoyable for all. In order to do this, there are necessary rules and procedures that need

to be followed to create a safe lab and learning environment. Your child will be expected

to follow the 5 Ps upon entering my classroom.

1. PROMPTbe to class on time, quietly turn in homework and sit down to begin

the bell work.

2. PREPARED always have your book, pens, pencils, paper.
3. PRODUCTIVE stay on task and follow directions.
4. POLITE be kind to everyone. Be kind to yourself. Be kind to all lab

equipment.
5. PATIENT wait your turn, listen when classmates are speaking.

***Failure to abide by these rules will result in a write up.

Because this class is largely lab based we will extensively go over lab procedures in

class, but let it be noted there is ABSOLUTELY no food or water in lab, goggles and

gloves must be worn at all times, and be cognitive about you wear on lab days (clothes

could get stained).
