To Whom It May Concern:

As a student teaching supervisor for the University of Arizona, in

Tucson, I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Kaila
Mayo. I have visited her student teaching in fifth grade on a number of
occasions this semester. Kaila is consistent and proficient in creating
and sustaining a positive, calm, and respectful learning environment
where she has established procedures and routines. Kaila gives very
clear instructions, modeling expectations, and giving feedback
throughout the lesson as she monitors student learning. She uses
integrated and highly motivating lessons. Her real-life scenarios are
engaging to the students and keep them interested throughout the
lesson.

Kaila is professional at all times. She has always turned in her

assignments and is prepared with her lesson plans. She attends all
staff and university seminars, and collaborates with her colleagues.
Kaila is also a reflective student teacher. She looks at ways to improve
her teaching and tries to incorporate new ideas and makes learning
relevant and authentic to her students.

I would like to take this opportunity to recommend her for a position at

your school. I feel very confident that she will be successful in teaching
elementary students. Kaila is dedicated to her students and their
learning and her work ethic is exemplary. For these reasons I offer a
high recommendation for Kaila, without reservation.

Her drive and abilities will truly be an asset to your district/school. If

you have any questions regarding this recommendation, please do not
hesitate to contact me at 520.742.3059.

Sincerely,

Jean M. Slaney
University of Arizona, Student Teaching Supervisor
