1. Open packet tracer.

2. Choose End devices and then select PC.


3. After selecting PC, then click on the main area.
4. Repeat 2 and 3 until 3 PC available on the main area

5. Choose Network devices and then select switches.


6. 6.After selecting switches, then click on the main area
7. Connect PC0 with switch0 using a copper straight connector through Fast Ethernet 0/1
8. Connect PC1 with switch0 using a copper straight connector through Fast Ethernet 0/2
9. Connect PC2 with switch0 using a copper straight connector through Fast Ethernet 0/3
10. Repeat step 1 until 9 to add another switch and 3 PC
11. Arrange all the devices in the main area systematically.
12. Select 1841 from Routers and choose connection type.
13. Draw connections from switch0 to routers 1841 using copper straight-through wire
14. Repeat step 13, but from routers 1841 to switch1
15. Then click on the router, select config to set up the ip address on the fastethernet0/0 and
fastethernet0/1
16. Set the PC with its own IP Address
17. The IP address for PC1 is 192.168.100.2( 00e0.f7d5.93cd)
18. The IP address for PC2 is 192.168.100.3( 0007.ec11.90b3)
19. The IP address for PC3 is 192.168.100.4( 00e0.f93c.39be)
20. The IP address for PC4 is 192.168.200.2( 00DD.97AD.A3D6)
21. The IP address for PC5 is 192.168.200.3( 0001.C7CD.729C)
22. The IP address for PC6 is 192.168.200.4(00D0.BABD.9923)
23. The one in bracket is MAC address for each PC
24. After all been set up, try with PDU
25. Add PDU at PC1 and PC6
26. PC1 sends packet to PC6
27. Switch 1 broadcasts the ARP Request packet to all hosts attached to it.
28. PC2 and Router port 192.168.100.1 drops the ARP packet as it is not for them, only PC3 does
not drop it.
29. Finally, data transfer will start between PC1 and PC6
30. PC1 sends packet to PC6
31. Switch 1 broadcasts the ARP packet to all hosts attached to it
32. PC2 and PC3 drops ARP whereas, port 192.168.100.1 of Router 1 accept it because network
ID 192.168.200.0 is in its routing table.
33. Router then replies to PC1
34. Now Router 1 wants to know which PC has IP address 192.168.200.4, therefore, it sends
another ARP request to the network 192.168.200.0
35. All PC in network 192.168.200.0 receive this ARP request and drop it except PC3. The PC3
replies to router along with its MAC address
36. Finally, data transfer will start between PC1 and PC6
