Description of Internship in brief


Amul is an Indian dairy cooperative,based at Anand in the state of Gujarat, India. It
was formed in 1946, it is a brand managed by a cooperative body, the Gujarat Co-
operative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd. (GCMMF),which today is jointly owned
by3.6 million milk producers in Gujarat.

In my internship I will be working under the fresh division of Amul which includes
product like Milk, Curd, Lassi, Butter Milk, Fresh Paneer,etc. during this
internship tenure I will be doing following things:

1. Data collection and analysis of the products being sold by the retailers.
2. Data analysis and problems faced by distributors of Amul.
3. Allocation of new distributors in the area where old distributors are selling
products at higher prices
4. Conducting promotional activities by putting kiosk in various areas.
5. Consumer awareness of recently launched products of Amul.
6. Competitive analysis of products being sold by retailer and distributors.

Objectives of internship
1. To create awareness among the consumers about the product.
2. To find the problems faced by the retailers in selling and storing.
3. To collect the information about the competitors product being old by retailers.
4. To organize sale promotional activities to improve sales of the fresh products of Amul.

Methodology
Descriptive methodology is used in the Research method . Under descriptive methodology we
used methods like surveys,questionnaires and interviews, we also used observation methods to
know the cutomer buying pattern and retailers selling pattern

Limitations of the study


1. In this industry, it is very difficult to find the exact figures as the consumption is very high.
2. There is not a particular trend followed in this industry to promote sales. Actions are taken
according to the situations and the situation changes very fast in this industry.
3. Sales price vary from retailer to retailer, as the cost price is different for different retailers due
to schemes given.
4. The number of shops are very large and it is very difficult to cover.
