Summary

Entry level assessment

Discuss prior lecture- I will discuss the prior lecture that will help the students
create links to the new material which will help them be able to absorb the
new information more easily. I will discuss the topic of single variable systems
of equations. The methods to solve multivariable systems of equations are
very similar. Students will be able to use prior knowledge to learn the
material with less effort.
Prior knowledge prying questions I will give students a couple questions on
how to solve single variable systems of equations using each of the three
methods ( substitution, elimination, and graphing). They will use these same
methods to solve multi-variable systems of questions.

Formative Assessment

Group worksheet I will give a worksheet on the new material, solving multi-
variable systems of equations. Working in groups will allow the students to
help each other clear any questions they may have and give themselves a
better understanding of the material.
Quiz- Giving a quiz will show where each student is in regards to having a
grasp on the new information. If a lot of student do poorly on a certain topic
such as substitution, then we can go over that said topic again to ensure all
students are comfortable with the material before moving on.
Graphic organizer I will have the students create a graphic organizer such
as a timeline or a different organizer of their choice. It will show if students
have a clear understanding of the material or if they have holes in their
knowledge.

Summative Assessment

Unit test- I will give a unit test after the entire unit has been taught. The
unit test will cover all of the material from the unit worth a large sum of
the grade. The unit test will show which materials students had trouble
with and what topics students know well.
Grades review I will talk to the students one on one about the grade they
received on their unit test and their overall grade. I will hear what
students had trouble with and help guide them in the correct direction to
improve on future tests.
