RE: Melissa Mielko

To Whom It May Concern:

It is my pleasure to write this letter in support of Melissa Mielko in her desire for an elementary
teaching position in your district. I have known Melissa for the past three years as an elementary
education major at Rowan. Her undergraduate clinical experiences in kindergarten. 2nd, 3'd, and
5"' grades and her experience working in a day camp with children of all ages make her an
excellent candidate for the position.
During the time I have known Melissa, she has proven herself to be a person of both character
and integrity. Melissa is a leader amongst her peers, demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills,
is well-spoken, poised, and presents herself as mature beyond her years.
At Rowan, Melissa was a member of not one, but three honor societies and her motivation and
strong desire to "give back" is evidenced by her participation in numerous campus-wide and
community fundraising and service project events such as the Relay for Life and St. Jude's
Cancer Walks, the POAC Walk for Autism Awareness, the Hero Walk for Drunk Driving
Awareness, and involvement with the Sharsheret Breast Cancer Organization and the Elizabeth
Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation.
Moreover, Melissa's passion for travel took her abroad during her junior year to study in
Florence, Italy and throughout Europe. I believe this experience exposed yet another dimension
of Melissa's personality - to, as a single young woman, travel and study abroad in foreign lands.

It is without even the slightest reservation that I recommend Melissa for a position in your
district. I am confident that her demonstrated ability to relate well with children and her peers,
coupled with her self-confidence and maturity, will make her an excellent addition to your
faculty. You will quickly discover what a fine young woman you have selected.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
