Name: Maria Trimble

Age: 17
School: University of Cincinnati - West Clermont, OH
Hometown: Cincinnati, OH
Major: Sports Medicine
Career Goal: I am hoping to become an athletic trainer and either become
employed at my home high school, or a school nearby.

Extracurricular Activities: I play soccer and run track, I participated in S.A.D.D

(Students Against Disruptive Decisions), and Spanish Club.

Living Situations: I live with my mom and my older sister.

Prized Possessions: My most prized possessions are my dogs that always keep
me company, and my aux cord that allows me to play my music wherever I want
whenever I want.

How Do You Cope With Stress?: I enjoy working out a lot, whether Im running or
lifting weights or doing something at the gym. Sleeping and listening to music helps
as well. If the stress gets too bad, Ill usually go out with my friends and do
something for awhile and come back to the task later on.

What Surprised You Most About College?: The number one thing that surprises
me is how laid back it is. I knew it wasnt as strict as high school, but I never knew it
wasnt overwhelming at all. I sometimes still feel the need to raise my hand and ask
to use the restroom. I can go and do what I want when I want without someone
telling me no.

Toughest Part of Freshman Year: The toughest part probably has to be that Im
going to two different schools. Although I take college classes, I am still only a junior
in high school. Trying to balance five classes of work is tough enough, but to add in
work from a college class makes it twice as tough. I was very excited to go to
college and have more freedom, and enjoy the new experiences, however I didnt
realize a lot of stress and lots of work would come along with it.
Words of Wisdom: The wisest thing I could say is to work hard and make sure
youre ready. Although you may not exactly know what college has in store, make
sure youre willing to take on the hard work and ready to pull a few all nighters. Just
because college overall is relaxed, that doesnt mean the work is.
