Puritan Plain Style Poem

You will be writing a Puritan Plain Style Poem. This poem must:
1. include a reflection on a belief that you have. This may be
religious, political, spiritual, personal, or anything along those
lines.
2. use a conceit (metaphor). Compare your belief to an everyday
object or process that you do.
*This is a conceit, so it should be a unique and/or shocking
metaphor, not a common or universal symbol.
3. refer to everyday objects.
*It would probably make your life easier to use an everyday
object for the other half of your conceit.
4. use short, simple diction.
5. have a meaning that is clear and directly stated.
6. be at least fourteen lines long.
7. be typed or handwritten neatly.
8. include this rubric, stapled to your final copy.
