Cowboys and Angels By: Dustin Lynch Analysis

In an unbalanced world, there can be perfect symmetry to dichotomized forces. Jane and

Rochester repel each other, as well as attract because they hold similar experiences yet inhabit

different characteristics. Often times, Rochester is seen as the corrupting, or rugged force, and

Jane as the calming or reserved force. In a song by Dustin Lynch, cowboys and angels are

compared as contrasting forces that pair very well together, [Cowboys] touch is her temptation

[Angels] kiss is my salvation. In this instance, Jane can be aligned with the angel and

Rochester with the cowboy. Jane can be seen as Rochesters salvation because she is motivated

by her care for him to save him from multiple situations that he finds himself in; such as the fire.

Despite their obvious differentiation from one another, they pair well together and complement

each others shortcomings, [they] ride side by side. Both of their pasts stay with them as

baggage, and they both react to those experiences with trauma and obvious pain. Both are equals

in the lengths they go to to protect themselves and those they care deeply about.
