Growing up, | have enjoyed doing service in my community. | volunteered at Mountain View Elementary and helped students with their homework. | saw that the children got excited when they got the problem right. Seeing them excited and happy made me feel like | was doing something right. Doing service for my community and others makes me feel that not everything in the world is hopeless. There is good in the world, and I am a part of it. A specific time where | felt that | actually made a change was when | hosted and organized a blood drive with the American Red Cross. To make this blood drive possible | had to find a place to do it and get people to come to my blood drive. The whole process took about ‘two months, When the day finally came for the blood drive and I saw people come in to donate, | got excited and happy. Everyone kept saying that they were proud of me for organizing it, including the people from the Red Cross. | really tried to get people to go and | was making a change to | help a lot of people in the hospitals right now. Doing this service in my community really brought my family, friends, and neighbors together.
