Martin Luther reformed the Catholic Church, and created his own church and
religion, Lutheran. Luther was born on November 10, 1483 in Eisleben, Germany.
He was a Catholic worshipper until recently, when he was excommunicated. Luther
told us that he was not happy with the churchs corruption, The corruption going on
throughout the church is crazy! He also believes that the selling of indulgences is
not fair. He posted the 95 theses on the door of a church in Wittenberg, Germany on
October 31, 1517.
When being interviewed, Luther told us that my goal was to modify the church
to what I believed what is correct, not completely change it. A few of his beliefs
were that the Bible should be the ultimate authority, not the Pope. He believed that
people should be able to reach salvation (go to Heaven) based on their faith. The
new religion he created was Lutheranism. Lutheranism spread all throughout
Poland, Norway, and parts of Germany and Poland. Within the church, there was no
selling of indulgences, and everyone could speak to God through prayer. We also
interviewed a Lutheranism follower who said, I am all for these changes, I believe
that they are better. There is no corruption in the new church.
