The meeting started with the recitation of Holy Quran by Dr. Usman Zafar Dar. The following agenda
items were discussed and decisions were made.

1. Dr. Ayesha Saeed overviewed the proceeding of last meeting.

2. Telephonic conversation was done by Prof. Dr. Syed Muhammad Awais with Dr. Mian Amjad for
his suggestions for effective conference registration. He suggested that provincial Vice
Presidents should ensure maximum registration within their zone and they should be written
letters for this task.
Dr. Mian Amjad also informed that a check of Rs. 250,000/- has been deposited from his
contacts in OASAC account.
3. Representative of McOLSON pharma informed that 10 PGRs of Jinnah Hospital, Lahore will be
sponsored by McOLSON pharma. He also informed that 4 consultants also confirmed their
registration and rest will provide details in coming week.
4. Dr. Abdul Hanan, PG representative will make a team of doctors (PGs) in orthopedics and visit
all institutions in Lahore for effective registration and participation.
5. Prof. Irfan Mehboob suggested that some special incentive should be given to the PGs
 Like one month sponsored training abroad in SAARC countries or national in a teaching hospital
like Jinnah Hospital / Mayo Hospital, Lahore etc. He advised to engage retired and serving
professors to motivate their residents for participation in the conference.
6. Prof. Parviaz Anjum advised to display conference broachers and posters all over Pakistan in
orthopedic departments.
7. Brig. Dr. Sohail Amin suggested that Conference CME hours should be obtained.
Create awareness through social platform like whatsapp group of OASAC for residents.
8. Personal communication should be done with the participants to engage that effectively in
scientific program.
9. Prof. Syed Muhammad Awais also made telephonic conversation with Prof. Dr. Abu Bakar
Siddique and updated him regarding all the discussion made in meeting. Prof. Dr. Abu Bakar
Siddique suggested that conference titled should be 9th International Biennial Conference of
Orthopedic association of SAARC countries
10. Mr. Salahudin Coordinator fortnightly meetings of Lahore will take brochures/ posters of
conference and distribute them to participants. Prof. Brig. Sohail Amin and Dr Mazhar
Iqbal will attend these fortnightly meetings and spread the information regarding
conference.
11. Registration fee will be waved off for those participants whose abstracts are accepted for oral
presentation.
12. Dr. Hanan will create a whatsapp group and include PGs and executive committee members in
this group. Dr. Akkad Rafique will also be the admin of group.
13. SOCIAL & CULTURAL ACTIVITIES OF CONFERENCE:
Dr. Mazhar Ch briefed regarding the progress of Social and Culture activities and informed
that he contacted with persons in Islamabad regarding this.
Prof. SM Awais suggested that Entertainment should be less than half an hour. He also
informed that Inaugural Dinner will be on 7th April and Federal Minister Health and
Province Minster Health will be the chief guest.
Shields will be distributed on 1st day of the conference and Dr. Usman Zafar Dar
nominated as a Coordinator of shields committee. He will also moderate the OASAC
executive committee meeting to be held on 7th April, 2017.
14. CONFERENCE THEME:
For attractive conference theme, brain storming will be carried out for effective ideas and
for this a message will be circulated in Whatsapp group. It will be finalized in next meeting.
15. CONFERENCE SYMPOSIA:
A letter will be written to all the Chairmans/ Co-Chairmans to provide their panel of
experts which should consist of more than 10 members.
16. JOURNAL PUBLICATION:
Prof. Irfan Mahboob informed that 9 papers have been received so far.
Prof. Syed Muhammad Awais (S.I) suggested that all the accepted papers will be jointly
published in JPOA and OASAC Journal and also enlist on brochure. Authors shall be
informed and get their consent regarding the joint publication.
 17. A sample bag for participants of conference was presented by Prof. Pervaiz Anjum. It was
unanimously approved by the committee.

At the end of the meeting Prof. Parvaiz Anjum informed the committee regarding the sad demise of Dr.
Lutfullah Baloch and dua was done. Prof. Parvaiz Anjum informed a letter will be emailed form OASAC for
condolence to his family.

Prof. Dr. Syed Muhammad Awais, Chairman, Executive Committee conclude the meeting with vote of
thanks.
