Claim Article #1

School Connectedness, Mental Health, and Well-Being of Adolescent
Mother, written by Laura F. Romo, and Erum Nadeem, is organized in a way
to explain the three main risk factors of teen pregnancy; lack of social
support, caregiver stress, and feelings of low self- efficacy. Partners can be
either a good support source, or strain the adolescent mother terribly.
Studies show that adolescent mothers dont provide as stable of a home for
the baby, as adult mothers do. Only a handful of young mothers are believed
to experience extreme hardship. This includes depression, substance use,
poverty, and partner violence.
I think this article helps support my claim pretty well. It informs the
reader of all the mental difficulties that teenage mothers go through both
during and after pregnancy. The three main factors really hit the point in this
article. They are all so important, which is awesome because by reading this
article, I learned stuff that I can now use for my project!
