Classroom Environment

As I enter the classroom, I was introduced to Mrs. Malcolm, who is the teacher for the

grade 5 class. The first thing that caught my eyes was the posters and motivational quotes on the

classroom wall. On the classroom walls there were Bahamian national symbols, classroom rules,

and a poster that displayed assignments done by the students.

On the board, there were finger symbols for the students. For example, if a student holds

up one finger, that means he/she needs a pencil, two fingers means he/she wants to use the

restroom, three fingers means he/she wants a drink and so on. Other than rules, there was a shelf

in the corner of the classroom fill with all sorts of books. When the students are done with their

work they can choose a book to read.
