Good Afternoon Eagles!

My name is Robin Griffin. I am a Graduate student at NC State University, working towards
my Masters in School Administration through the NorthEast Leadership Academy (NELA). This
program awards me the opportunity of on-the-job training during a full years residency. I have the
honor of serving as your Administrative Resident.
I was born and raised here in Edgecombe County. I attended Carver Elementary, went on to
middle school at South Edgecombe, and high school at SouthWest Edgecombe. While working as a
teachers assistant at GW Bullock Elementary, I began my studies to become a classroom teacher. I
graduated with a Bachelors in Middle School Education from Barton College, in Wilson, NC. Ive
spent the last 7 years teaching 7th grade Language Arts and Social Studies at South Edgecombe
Middle School.
As a parent and a grandparent, I appreciate your commitment to giving your child the best
education they need to grow into well-rounded adults. This is my commitment as well. I am the
mother of three children, Brian (31), Nicholas (23), and Miranda (20). I have three beautiful
granddaughters as well; Kailey (7), Brilynn (5), and Ella (4 months). As a product of the educational
system for which I now teach, I want to instill the values of giving back to my community that were
engrained in me by the teachers who held my future in their hands; to continue the legacy of
growing our wonderful county.
