Aboriginal men through the medium of Australia Rules Football. It is a partnership with
Clontarf Foundation and St Marys College
Broome Girls Academy to provide sports and extra-curricular activities, intensive
mentoring and counselling, and a unique focus on work readiness, work placements,
traineeships and employment
Vocational Education and Training offering specialist courses at school, including access
to the fully equipped Trade Training Centre, combined with training at external providers
like TAFE and regular, on-the-job, and workplace learning
Extra-curricular activities including Kimberley Cup, Country Week sporting carnivals in
Perth, various sporting carnivals, community dance and musical performances, art and
media competitions, Year 9 Camp, Year 11 and 12 Ski trip

Geographical Location The Kimberley, Western Australia, situation on the lands of the
Yawura people, who have claim to the land for over forty thousand
years.
Founded 1889 as a pearling port - the pearling industry remains a large part
of Broome today.
Population 17,300, however, the seasonality of the tourism industry means that
the total service population, including visitors and transient workers,
may be up to 75% higher than this during peak times (2011 Census).
Socio Economic While Broome has some affluent neighbourhoods, there are pockets
of significant socio-economic disadvantage with high levels of
unemployment, low levels of education, income, skills and access to
services.
Economy Focused around tourism and supporting the broader resource sector
in the Kimberley region. The retail, trade, accommodation and food
services are large employers due to the tourism industry.
