Foreign Minister Retno LP Marsudi said on Thursday that all deals signed between

Indonesia and the United States during US Vice President Mike Pences visit to Jakarta
were related to the energy sector.

She said the total of the deals reached US$8 billion.

"This time all business deals are related to the energy sector. This ranged from waste-to-
energy development to geothermal development," she said at the Presidential Palace in
Central Jakarta on Thursday.

Retno could not confirm whether the high profile issue surrounding gold and copper
miner PT Freeport Indonesia was discussed during the visit of the US vice president, who
is scheduled to leave Indonesia on Friday.

"Freeport [issue] is done," she said, referring to the negotiation between the government
and Freeport Indonesia over the conversion of the Work of Contract (WoC), established
in 1991, to the Special Mining License (IUPK), as part of the adjustment to the new law
on mining.

On Thursday, Pence met with President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo before attending a
bilateral talk with Vice President Jusuf Kalla.

Kalla was accompanied by several ministers including, Retno, Coordinating Economic

Minister Darmin Nasution, Coordinating Maritime Affairs Minister Luhut Pandjaitan and
Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Ignasius Jonan. (bbn)
