Hi, my name is Victoria Chaudoir; however, I normally just go by Tor. | am a junior in the Early Chilchood: Education program at Eastern. | am one or tvvo more semesters away from student teaching and hope to student teach somewhere that is close to home in Monroe. Outside of school, I work as a lead teacher fora ‘company called Engineering for Kids vihere I teach STEM and engineering based curriculum at different schools ‘and community centers in Dearborn and Downriver. We do a lat of robotics, game design, and hands-on ‘engineering lessons and projects. | have also just been hired as an assictant teacher at Bedford Child Development Center in Temperance. I'm very excited for this opportunity because itis exactly what lam going ‘to school for snd what | want to do carcer-wise. | look forward to becoming 2 part of the center and hope that | "will eventually become a lead teacher there. | also coach the freshman volleyball team at Trenton High School ‘anda 1éu team for Atomic! Volleyball Club. My 16u team's season just started after winter bresk and | look. forward to sceing my team grow and improve. | would say that my tech skills ae intermediate. | know how to use the programs that I need for work, school, ‘and my personal life: however, | find myself asking for help on a number of tasks as well. Im excited to improve my tech skills through this class and to learn ways to incorporate technology into my classroom. ‘One use of digital imaging that | would use in the classroom would be to take photos of nature. Editing photos alco allows students to incorporate their creativity into the project. Therefore, | would have my students use a basic editing program, as we did for this assignment, an edit their photo of nature. | would then print the pictures and display thm in the classroom. This could be done during a nature-rclatee unit. | came up with this, ‘dea as | was reading one of the articles in this module. The example in the article was to have the students take pictures around the classroom. | thought it would be a fun idea for the students to expand out of the classroom ‘and take pictures outdoors. >My photo was taken using Snapchat, in which | used ane of the filters. When | began editing, | frst cropped ll of the extre, unneeded eciges out I then used the "smudge" effect in Pir to smudge and blur the background. | ‘then used Pir Express to add a border. I kept my photo relatively simple but | did add a litle bit of creativity into it. The smudged and blurred effect was pretty artsy and the border reminded me of a Polaroid. | think this kind of describes me in that | am a simple person but | do have a creative side to me.
