To Whom It May Concern
Itis my honor to write a letter of recommendation for Tricia Kelley. She completed her student
teaching placement with me from January 2014 ~ December 2014, During this placement, | observed Tricia
consistently demonstrating dependability, team work and professionalism.
Tricia’s dependability made her an asset to my 1" grade classroom. Knowing that she would arrive
early and was willing to stay late eased my mind as a mentor teacher. Her eagerness to learn and be involved
showed me that she was passionate about growing as an educator. After a short time observing, Tricia was
ready to begin conducting her own small groups. She was always well-prepared and made a conscious effort
‘to maximize instructional time. By continually focusing on student achievement, she was able to see
remarkable gains in our students during her time.
Her ability to work’as part of a team was apparent from the beginning. She willingly assisted in
planning, curriculum mapping, and in various day-to-day tasks. Daily, Tricia led her own intervention groups,
planned for her small group instruction, and shared in whole group responsibilities. Tricla’s positive
personality made her an easy person to work with. One of the most influential ways that she showed team
work occurred during the fall semester. Our school was discussing not being able to have a Girls on the Run
program due to lack of teachers willing to be a volunteer as a coach after school. After mentioning this need
to Tricia, she enthusiastically signed up to help lead. Andrew Jackson was able to have a team because of her
willingness to show teamwork,
During her time with Kingsport City Schools Tricia attended numerous professional developments and
was always anxious to apply what she had learned in the classroom. Her professionalism made her stand out,
The students and parents respected her as an educator and co-teacher.
Tricia would make a worthy candidate for a teaching position. She deserves careful consideration for
all teaching positions. Please contact me if you have any further questions.
