IE Statement of Goals & Choices

What my piece was trying to accomplish was to convince the UN that there should be a
boundary in place to monitor the experimentation of the merging of mind and technology to ensure its
done in moderation and moral ethics are considered, because the advancement of technology and study
of the brain are becoming merged. The rhetorical choices Ive made in this piece were to first show
portions of the brain that are used in the brain to brain experiment and the possible areas that can be
affected should the study continue. Next would be the current merging of humans with technology with
the brain controlled prosthetics. Finally at the end I would show the experiment where they were able
to successfully have brain to brain communication with the aid of technology. Also throughout the paper
I was mainly using clipart or the insertion of arrows because they were the easiest to work with and find.
The only photo which was cited was the picture that was meant to show the brain to brain experiment
to give readers a sense of what it looked like and give a visual of what it was. When brainstorming ideas
for this project the first and only idea that I believed to be feasible was the belief of controlling or
manipulation of others. It was eventually changed to the manipulation of the mind because as I was
researching there werent many papers that could help, but I did find those of technology and the mind
being mixed. This was how it changed and it allowed the collection of sources and evidence to be easier
as well as the experiment gave a lot of momentum to the purpose of the piece.
