Myra planned effectively and did a proficient job implementing small group reading instruction. During this observation,
I noted that she asked planned and purposeful questions and students were able to articulate their comprehension of
the fictional level text. Reading strategies were reviewed, and the learning targets were discussed (focus on main idea).
Continue to plan using resources and strategies that are appropriate for the content. I also encourage Ms. Verdes to
establish clear expectations and consistently model and reinforce class rules and procedures. To make her first year a
successful one, I would encourage her to seek out resources to assist her in classroom management procedures and
positive reinforcement systems (PBIS).
