50th Anniversary of MLKs I have a Dream Speech

On August 28, 2013, President Barack Obama gave a speech in honor of 50th
Anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr. I Have a Dream. In his speech, President Obama
highlighted some of the main points of the march such as equal wages and equality that
not all Americans received. President Obama talked about how the original march was
done for the equality that was promised in Constitution. He talked about how the original
marchers dealt with segregations from restaurants, schools, and hotels. He talked
about how all freedom is not given. It is a war that must be won through struggle and
sacrifice, discipline persistence and faith. He talked about how people of modern talk
about how nothing has changed when in fact, everything has changed.
He also talked about how Dr. King not only wanted success for African
Americans but all Americans living in this country. He talked about how unemployment
has decreased and people need to continue to support fairer wages. He ended his
speech with change does not come from Washington, but to Washington, and how its
up to the American people to change the government.
