Blendspace and Screencast Workshop Agenda

April 12 - During grade level planning or afterschool from 2:45 4:00

Learning Objectives:
1. Teachers will be able to understand what a blended classroom is and how to set up
blended lessons.
2. Teachers will be able to create and use screencast to deliver instruction.
3. Teachers will be able to work collaboratively in a group to brainstorm ways to use
screencast and Blendspace in the classroom.

Teacher Materials Needed: Laptop, Note Taking Guide, Access to Blendspace, Access to
screencast-o-matic, grade level content standards, and Pen/Pencil

Materials Provided: Workshop agenda, copy of slide show with spaces for note taking

Instruction
Introduction (5 10 minutes)
Prezi on what a Blended Classroom looks like.
Discuss the difference between a traditional and a blended classroom (view
infographic)
Discuss how teachers can use Blendspace and screencast in their classroom
(general ways)
Explain to teachers the Padlet parking lot website
In groups, teachers will discuss how they could create a blended lesson (grade
level specific ways).
Teachers share ways they can create a blended lesson.

Creating Blendspace on a specific standard (15 - 20 minutes)


Walk teachers through how to create a Blendspace, search for resources, and
connect it to specific grade level standards.
Allow teachers to set up their Blendspace

Create a Screencast (15 - 20 minutes)


Walk teachers through how to create a screencast and save it.
Allow teachers to create their screencast

Linking the screencast teachers created to Blendspace 3 (10 15 minutes)


Walk teachers through how to link their screencast to their Blendspace
Allow teachers to link their screencast

Closing (5 10 minutes)
Review how Blendspace and Screencast can support a Blended Classroom
Review the learning objectives
Request feedback by directing participants to complete the evaluation survey
