I was very exited to hear about your vacancy for an NCADD-OC Intern from a colleague
of mine. I am currently attaining my Bachelor of Science in Community Health Science
and School Health at CSULB. I am looking for an internship for my Internship
Community Health Education class for this spring semester; therefor this opportunity will
put my education and skills to their fullest potential. Through my education I have
gained a vast amount of knowledge about drugs and alcohol in several of my classes. I
am currently taking a Drugs and Health class this semester so the knowledge I am
acquiring from this class is relevant for this position.

I have attained community-organizing experience through my summer internship at

Building Healthy Community, Long Beach (BHCLB). I have worked with a diverse
community through my community organizing work. I worked in Central Long Beach
where there is an overall health gap between this area and other parts of Long Beach. I
interacted with numerous coalitions and residents by tabling at different events. I was
able to educate residents on how BHCLB makes our city healthier though collaborative
efforts. I also developed a brochure depicting what health inequalities are, and how they
affect different area codes of Long Beach. I have also volunteered for CSULBs Health
Resource Center as a Wellness Warrior where I work at different tabling events
teaching fellow students about bystander awareness against sexual assault and sexual
health.
